If there is a job around the garden that most of us hate then it has to be weeding, a never ending task that always seems to end in back ache.
Why go through all this when all you have to do to create the low maintenance garden, is lay weed control fabric and top with a good layer of bark or woodchip mulch which you can select from our range below.
And don’t forget mulching is not only good for suppressing weeds but it also helps retain moisture levels in the soil around your plants, reducing the need for endless watering during the summer months, especially helpful to those living in areas where hosepipe bans have been introduced.
During the winter months bark and woodchip mulches will help protect the root systems of your plants in your garden by providing insulation against the penetrating frosts and cold winds, which in turn will reduce plant losses during this harsh time of year.
We believe we have the most extensive range of bark and woodchip mulches available to suit all your needs with the added bonus of being delivered direct to you.

Tips on Mulching
When we mulch our main aim is to suppress weeds to make our life in the garden a little easier, but mulching has many other benefits which include:
Before applying your mulch make sure all areas are free of un-wanted weeds and plants, dig over area to loosen soil and apply any fertilizers or plant feeds. For added benefits you can use a ground cover over the area you are going to mulch as this will provide extra protection against weed growth and extend the life of your mulch. Spread your mulch to a minimum depth of 50mm over the area, taking care that the mulch is not piled up around the base of plants as this can cause them to rot. On a regular basis it is a good idea to rake over your beds to ensure that your mulch is maintained at the required depth and if not top up. If done properly mulching should provide 2-3 years of cost effective weed control.
